This is just FABULOUS red Burgundy and, while it needs air and good food now, it's already delicious and will be better still from 2022-2030 or so. The 60+ year-old vines grow in Remigny, just south of Chassagne, and the wine ages 12 months in used barrel. In 2018, it's deep and dark and rich, with succulent black raspberry/dark cherry fruit and accents of berry blossom, spice, and cocoa. There's an enlivening juiciness here that keeps the rich, sweet, fruit fresh and vibrant and excellent balancing tannins that are firm but silky. A fine match for grilled lean beef or stew right now, it will become even silkier and more elegantly complex with time. This is very, very, good and outstanding value as well.
