The fruit for La Spinetta CP Barbera Piemonte is sourced from the younger Barbera vines in Castagnole and Costigliole. It sees 8 days of maceration with the skins in roto-fermentor to extract the utmost potential from this high quality, lush fruit. The wine is aged primarily in steel with a small portion (20%) aged in used barriques. Rich, ripe plum, blackberries, and toasted cherries, and leather are the hallmarks of any great barbera, and CP has them all in spades. This is a wine that drinks well above its pay grade.
