The Bogle Phantom is a blend of 42% Petite Sirah, 34% Zinfandel, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot from California. The wine spends 24 months in 1 and 2 year old American Oak. Tasting the wine reveals lots of jammy dark fruit brimming with spice and vanilla plus secondary notes of licorice, chocolate and black pepper. This is a smooth, full-bodied, tannic beauty. Petite Sirah has long been a favorite underdog variety and this blend puts it to very good use. It ends with a spicy, very long-lasting and extremely satisfying finish.
