There's nothing better than serving a cocktail over the holidays with your own infused liquor. The flavor combinations are endless but here are a few to get you started.
Just combine some ingredients in a jar or old liquor bottle and let it sit for a while (times vary by recipe, but generally anywhere from a few days to a month). All you have to do is occasionally agitate the bottle or jar, and strain it at the end.
The easiest way to get rid of all those candy canes this season is to make a Candy Cane Vodka. Break up a bunch of candy canes and put them in a glass jar or bottle. Pour in some simple vodka like 44 North and let sit for a few days. Use the flavored liquor to add some holiday cheer to punch, martinis or shots.
This recipe is easy as well and another great place to start experimenting with flavors. Start with a mid-priced gin like Aviation (top-shelf isn’t necessary). Cut up a cucumber and put it into a jar or bottle. Pour in the gin and let sit for a couple days. Adding a couple sprigs of mint will add some unique flavors as well.
It’s perfect for specialty martinis or even sipping neat. Dice up about 3.5 ounces of ginger root and put it into a mason jar or old liquor bottle. Add about 1/2 cup of sugar and a small piece of lemon peel, then fill up the jar or bottle with Prairie Organic Vodka. Shake several times a day for 1-2 days. Try it in a vodka tonic for an unusual twist.
